Dear
Juniors,
Convention was awesome!
Congratulations
Kirsten: you did a great job as Convention Chairwoman!
Congratulations
also to Iman, Laura & Linda who represented us so well on the State
Board.
Thanks and
Congratulations to Lisa Rangel. The workshop she did on Resume Writing -
Incorporating Volunteerism - was the hit of Convention!
If you
attended, I hope you enjoyed the experience…if you were unable to attend, I
hope you can join us next year.
We had a
great turnout this weekend…8 of us attended the dinner on Friday
night and 19 members attended the Banquet on Saturday
night.
Convention was a
great opportunity to spend time together…and meet Juniors from throughout the
state.
During
Convention we received awesome recognition for our hard
work. Each of you should be proud of our accomplishments this past
year and for the recognition that we received. Congratulations to
the Chairs of our Departments...every department received recognition this
weekend!
The
recognition that we received:
WE EARNED THE PRESTIGIOUS DIAMOND
DOZEN AGAIN THIS YEAR! (This is the highest
award presented to the Junior Clubs. Three clubs in each of the four
membership categories are honored each year for their outstanding
accomplishments in all aspects of club work.)

Recognition for
our contribution to Foster & Adoptive Family Services
It was
really exciting hearing our club name called and receiving recognition for the
projects that we worked on. (The awards were based on the reports
that we submitted in February which detailed the work that we did in 2009).
Alex Ann Borkowski was installed as the Director of
Junior Clubs. The theme for Alex Ann's administration is "Moving into the Future with Juniors." The
new Director's Special Project is Childhood
Obesity in Children.
For
2010-2012 we will have 3 members on the State Board: Kirsten (Recording
Secretary & Convention Chair), Iman (Federation secretary)
and Linda S. (State Project Chair).
The new
State Project 2010-2012 is The
Valerie Fund.
Thank you
for all the time and dedication you give to the Juniors throughout the
year. Together we have truly Made History Now in our community
for the organizations and families that we have assisted.
CONGRATULATIONS!
In Junior
Spirit & Friendship,
Lina and
Iman
