Eco Grocery Bags We are selling “green” grocery bags, priced at $2 each or 3 bags for $5. Proceeds will go to JWCR general fund.
Collections We continue to collect used toner cartridges and batteries. The toner cartridges are sold, with the funds going to the JWCR General Fund, and the batteries are dropped off at Borough Hall. Both may be brought to our monthly meetings.
Ladybug Release ~ May 31, 2009 Our Annual Ladybug Release was a wonderful event for the children in Rutherford. It was a beautiful day with hundreds of people in Lincoln Park. The event included crafts, face painting, tattoos, activities and games, and a Snakes 'n Scales presentation. As always, the actual release of the ladybugs at the end of the event was a big hit.
We are thankful for the volunteers from RHS - the Biology Club and the Art Club - and the Girl Scouts.
Annual Yard Sale ~ May 9, 2009
At our Annual Yard Sale held on Saturday, May 9th we raised over $400. The sale is organized by the Conservation Department in an effort to raise funds for local organizations and to "recycle" items. Thank you to everyone who supported the yard sale.
The following photo was taken the day of the Yard Sale in 2009.
