Proof of residency must be established with the enrollment office at the Board of Education.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a id=\"2\"><\/a><br \/>\n<i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">How old must a child be to attend Pre-K 3, Pre-K 4, Kindergarten, or Grade 1?<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Pre-K 3 students must be 3 years of age on or before October 1<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">st<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of the upcoming school year.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Pre-K 4 students must be 4 years of age on or before October 1<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">st<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of the upcoming school year.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Kindergarten students must be 5 years of age on or before October 1<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">st <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of the upcoming school year.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Grade 1 students must be 6 years of age on or before October 1<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">st <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of the upcoming school year.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>There are no exceptions.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a id=\"3\"><\/a><br \/>\n<i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Which devices may I use to access the online registration form?<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A desktop computer, laptop computer, tablet or smartphone with Internet access.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Note: Public Internet computers can be found at the Rutherford Public Library, along with Wi-Fi access for your personal device.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The process requires an email address.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a id=\"4\"><\/a><br \/>\n<i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Should I create a PowerSchool Registration account?<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Yes, you will have to create a PowerSchool Registration account to complete the enrollment process. The account will allow you to securely save your information and access it later if necessary. Your email address will be utilized as your username.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a id=\"5\"><\/a><br \/>\n<i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Do I need more than one PowerSchool Registration account if I have more than one child?<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">No. If you are registering more than one child, you can utilize the same PowerSchool Registration account. After completing the registration for the first child, click the link to begin registration for a second child. Repeat this process for as many students as you need to register.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a id=\"6\"><\/a><br \/>\n<i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Do I have to answer all the questions in the online registration application?<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Questions marked with a red asterisk (*) require a response.\u00a0 You will not be able to submit the registration until those questions are answered.\u00a0 A list of the unanswered questions will display when you reach the end of the form.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a id=\"7\"><\/a><br \/>\n<i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">What if I make a mistake?<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you need to edit any of your answers, click on the underlined field on the review page or click \u201c&lt;Prev&gt;\u201d to return to a previous page. Who should I contact for help?<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you are having issues with the PowerSchool Registration program, such as forgetting your username and password or if the username and\/or password is not working, please contact PowerSchool Registration at 866-752-6850 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Monday \u2013 Friday) or<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/help.powerschool.com\/t5\/Registration\/ct-p\/PowerSchoolRegistration\"> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">their support link<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you are having difficulty understanding the application, answering questions, or you do not understand how to use the registration portal, you may contact the Rutherford Public Schools enrollment office at 201-438-7675 x1112 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a id=\"9\"><\/a><br \/>\n<i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I have answered all the questions on the online registration form. What is next?<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Once all information has been entered for the student(s) with an electronic signature, click \u201cSubmit.\u201d A preview page will appear to review information entered for each page and will indicate any fields that were not completed. You will receive a \u201cRegistration Confirmation Receipt\u201d after you submit the enrollment which can be printed or downloaded for your records.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a id=\"10\"><\/a><br \/>\n<i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I have my confirmation receipt. Now what?<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Please contact the Rutherford Public Schools to complete your registration by calling 201-438-7675 x1112 or emailing <a href=\"mailto:registration@rutherfordschools.org\">registration@rutherfordschools.org<\/a>. Please include your <\/span><b>last name, school year, and the words New Registration in the subject line<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (i.e., Smith 22-23 New Registration) and <\/span><b>include your contact phone number(s) in the body of the email.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Details will be provided for you when you call or email the registrar.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a id=\"11\"><\/a><br \/>\n<i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">What documents do I need?<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Your child\u2019s original birth certificate.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Your child\u2019s immunization records.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Pre-entrance physical: You may submit your child\u2019s most recent physical if it is within one year of the September enrollment date. If your child is enrolling after the start of school, the most recent physical must be within a year of your child\u2019s start date. Otherwise, all new students entering school are required to have a physical within 30 days of the start of school done by your private health care provider.The results of this physical shall be furnished to the school on the form provided in your registration packet or on a form provided by your child\u2019s physician.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">School transcripts and\/or report cards for placement.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the case of specific family circumstances (divorce, separation, etc.) and\/or custodial arrangements that the school should know about \u2013 A COPY OF THE LEGAL DOCUMENTS WHICH ESTABLISHED THESE ARRANGEMENTS MUST BE PROVIDED.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Proof of residency according to your situation.<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"3\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I <\/span><b>own <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">my home in Rutherford:\u00a0 Please submit a copy of <\/span><b>the deed<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> showing recording information in the county along with any<\/span><b> TWO<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of the following items that clearly show your name, address, and a current date.<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"4\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Property or real estate tax bill<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"4\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Any of the following utility bills: PSEG, phone, internet service, or water.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"4\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Medical insurance \/ car insurance<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"4\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Bank or credit card statement<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"3\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I <\/span><b>rent <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">a home\/apartment in Rutherford: Please bring a copy of the executed, signed <\/span><b>lease<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, effective during the current school year, showing residency within the Borough of Rutherford.
