He created, produces, directs and stars in the hit Hulu show \u201cRamy,\u201d inspired by his own experiences as a first-generation Egyptian-American Muslim growing up in Rutherford.<\/p>\n<p>In 2020, Ramy Youssef won the Golden Globe for \u201cBest Performance by an Actor in a Television Series \u2013 Musical or Comedy.&#8221; He has been nominated for numerous awards including two Emmy Awards for \u201cOutstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series\u201d and \u201cOutstanding Directing for a Comedy Series.\u201d\u00a0 Additionally, the series was honored by the Peabody Awards for Excellence in Storytelling.\u00a0 In March of 2024, Ramy hosted Saturday Night Live<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Youssef was also nominated for a Critics\u2019 Choice Award and a Writers Guild Award for his one-hour HBO comedy special \u201cRamy\u00a0Youssef: Feelings.\u201c<\/p>\n<p>Ramy Youssef is also the co-creator and executive producer of Netflix\u2019s new series \u201cMo,\u201d which won the\u00a0Gotham\u00a0Award for Best Breakthrough Series Under 40 Minutes, and was recognized by AFI as one of their Top Television Programs of the year.<\/p>\n<p>Youssef\u00a0also starred alongside Emma Stone, Willem Dafoe and Mark Ruffalo film\u00a0POOR\u00a0THINGS\u00a0 which will made its debut in 2023.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>RHS announces 2023 Distinguished Graduate Recipient RUTHERFORD HIGH SCHOOL ANNOUNCES THE SELECTION OF Ramy Youssef Actor\/Writer\/Director CLASS OF 2009 AS THE RECIPIENT OF THE 2023\u00a0DISTINGUISHED GRADUATE AWARD Mr. Ramy Youssef graduated from Rutherford High School in 2009.
